Cookie policy

The short version: we only store what’s needed to keep you signed in and remember your settings. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers — which is why there’s no cookie banner nagging you.
1. Why there’s no cookie banner
UK law requires consent for cookies that aren’t strictly necessary— the ones used for analytics, advertising or tracking you between sites. We don’t use any of those. Everything we store is required to make the site work for you, and that category doesn’t need consent. So rather than show you a pop-up asking permission for things we don’t do, we just don’t do them.
If that ever changes we will add a proper consent banner first, and this page will say so before it does.
2. What we actually store
Most of it isn’t technically a cookie — it’s browser storage, which works similarly and is covered by the same rules.
| Your sign-in session | A token proving you're signed in, so you don't have to log in on every page. Kept until you sign out or it expires. |
| Light or dark theme | Remembers which you picked, so the site doesn't flash the wrong one on every load. |
| Small interface preferences | Things like the last tab or filter you had open, so the page comes back the way you left it. |
| Security | Cloudflare, who host the site, may set a cookie to tell real visitors from automated attacks. It doesn't track you across other websites. |
3. What we don’t use
- No Google Analytics or any other analytics.
- No session recording or screen replay. We use an error-reporting tool (Sentry) that tells us when the site breaks, but it only ever fires on a fault — it doesn’t follow you around the site and it isn’t told who you are.
- No advertising or remarketing pixels — no Meta, no Google Ads.
- No cross-site tracking, and no profiling for advertising.
- No selling or sharing of browsing data. There isn’t any to sell.
4. Push notifications
These aren’t cookies, but they’re worth mentioning here. If you turn on notifications, your browser gives us a subscription so we can send them to your device. That is entirely opt-in, it only happens if you press the button, and you can turn it off in Settings or in your browser or phone settings at any time.
5. Controlling it
Every browser lets you view and delete stored data and block cookies. It’s usually under Settings → Privacy. Be aware that blocking ours will sign you out and keep signing you out, because the sign-in token is the thing being blocked.
